2003 S.O.P.S.I. Activities
> In our initiative, the Special Committee of Protection Control for Mentally Ill Individuals has been modified (question to the MP body by MP Mrs. E. Kourkoula). Thereafter, the S.O.P.S.I. Vice president has been participating in the committee.
> Participation and presentation of views in all ESAEA conventions.
> After successive S.O.P.S.I and ESAEA actions and with its uttermost support in the matter of Social Insurance, granting the AMEA 75% of the deceased parent's pension , we hope that the Parliament will decide positively on the issue.
> S.OP.S.I. participation in the campaign against the stigma within the Greek Project of E.P.I.PS.I against the Schizophrenia Stigma at the municipalities of Kallithea, Korydallos, Drapetsona, Pallini, Keratsini, Peristeri, Salamina and the Technological Institute (T.E.I) of Psychology in Patras.
> S.O.P.S.I participation in one-day convents of PSNA on the subject " Expression of the attitudes of substance users and their families on the strategy directions for the reformation of the psychiatric hospitals in Attica.
> Participation in the Vironas municipality project within the Third E.U. Support Frame
> On October 3 S.O.P.S.I attended the 16th CEFEC Counsel (Community initiative EQUAL), at the round table on the issue " Social Economy European Social Enterprise Partnerships " (partnership with the mentally ill).
> October 15, 16 participation in a two-day convent for the Olympics and Paraolympics organized by the Economist magazine.
> November 7 -10 participation in the cinema venue against the stigma in Salonika.
> Participation in the GAMIAN and EUFAMI counsels in Marseilles France and England, where, besides the Poster, views on matters of our concern were expressed.
> Participation in the 1st Panattico Counsel for Mental Health organized by the Korydallos Centre of Social Intervention under the aegis of the Ministry of Health at the Cultural Centre "Melina Merkouri" November 20-22, 2003.
> Participation of a member of our Board of Directors in the
EUFAMI Committee concerning the web page presenting the activities of 26 countries.
Presentation of S.O.P.S.I activities in the Greek language at the EUFAMI web
page,Greece being the sole among the 26 countries to have such a web page. Shortly,
there will be one in English as well.
VISITS
> April 8, meeting Archbishop's spokesman, Father Epiphanios.
> May 10 ,meeting M.Ps Mr K.Koulouris and Mrs E.Kouroubli.
> May 26, meeting Atch prefect, Mrs Fofi Gennimata.
VENUES
> May 12 , theatrical play, "PROOF", at Mousouri Theatre.
> July 2 , our banquet at the ASTRA club in Vironas, which met great success attended by the Mayor, Mental Health professionals and other local authorities.
> September 11 , concert by Vassili Papakonstandinou at Theatro Vrachon of Vironas Municipality, which was attended by the Mayor of Vironas Mr Hardalias, the Assistant Professor of Psychiatry Mrs Marina Oikonomou-Lalioti, the Vice President of the Greek Parliament Mr K.Geitonas and other personalities of the local social and political life.
> September 29 , concert by Nana Mouschouri at Herodio where Honorary Award of S.O.PS.I by the Chairman of the International Psychiatric Society Prof. Norman Sartorius, within the EPIPSI venue against the schizophrenia stigma.
> S.O.P.S.I attendance and a wreath donation on October 28 , the National Day, at Vironas municipality.
> November 24, banquet of the S.O.P.S.I members at the ASTRA club.
> S.O.P.S.I participation in the ESAEA Informative Campaign on December 3rd at the Syntagma Metro Station.
